CYBERJAYA – From tip-off to the final buzzer, it was a clear win for the Westports Malaysia Dragons when they faced against the full force of Kaohsiung Truth.

Despite not having their head coach on the floor, with the guidance of their assistant coach Goh Cheng Huat, they managed to hold their grounds against the Taiwanese team.

Skylar Spencer and Kiwi Gardner both had a double-double with over 20 points and 11 rebounds each.

“Coach Chris have been drilling us for the whole week, it’s unfortunate he isn’t able to join us but this win is for him.” said Coach Goh.

Joshua Munzon was the top-scorer for Dragons with 28 points with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Yi Hou broke the double digit barrier with 12 points, he has been proving his worth on the team game after game.

Coach Thomas proudly said, “The local kids are getting so much better, they’ve been playing with confidence and flair.” He then continued, “That’s the only way they get stronger.”

For their final match-up, Dragons will be flying over to Taiwan to face the Truth at home.

With their fresh win over Truth, the Westports Malaysia Dragons are now in 5th place and is just one win away from Saigon Heat at 4th.

Their game against the Kaohsiung Truth will be the final and crucial game as to whether Dragons will enter the playoffs.

Tip-off for Dragons’ next match will be at 7PM at Kaohsiung Municipal Senior High, 25th March.
