KUALA LUMPUR – In an unfortunate comeback scheme composed by the Singapore Slingers resulted in a heartbreaking defeat for us

The game opened with Yek Liang Chuan dropping two points on the Slingers which led to a 7-2 run for the Dragons. Fueled with intensity and diligent on defense, we were toe-to-toe with our rivals across the borders and won the first quarter, 19-16.

Recognizing success, the Dragons repeated their strategy of boxing-out players to get the rebound for a defense transition in the second quarter to end the first quarter leading by 6 points, 37-31.

Things took a turn for our home team in the second half of the game where the team’s points froze at 52-48 and saw Slingers catching up then executing a 12-point run in the final 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter.

In the last 10 minutes of the game, Singapore were motivated by their momentum and kept the spree up for another 3 minutes for another 9 points to create a 16-point gap which should have been the dagger for our team but the Dragons were unwavered with their trail and kept the ball in play until the very end.
